CCGE Founding Member dies
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen McWilliams on Wednesday March 15, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. Helen, a member of the CCGE since 1993, was a dedicated teacher and spent her entire career of 30 years at Sackville High School. Her passion for geography and education was evident as she continually immersed herself in workshops, conferences and courses to further her knowledge in the field and pass on this information. A colleague wrote that “Helen is now able to transform that old geographer’s creed ‘A geographer is never lost, we are just exploring’ into her own final stamp on our lives as a friend and colleague. She is now forever exploring and we all know she is never lost!” |
