programs that include the Great Canadian Geography Challenge, Professional
Development, and Geographic Literacy.

DEVELOPMENT |
Teacher Institutes - The intent of the Teacher Institute program is
to support a single initiative in support of geoliteracy with a grant of $5,000.
Arnold Awards - This annual subsidy helps Canadian teachers
to participate in conferences or professional-development courses in geography.
Project Atmosphere - This is a summer workshop for pre-college teachers
of atmospheric science topics sponsored by the American Meteorological Society and the
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association of the United States.
