Apply before March 15 to attend PROJECT ATMOSPHERE, a two-week summer meteorology workshop specifically designed for teachers and run by the American Meteorological Society (AMS).
Expenses while at the workshop are covered by allowances from the AMS. In addition, CCGE and the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (CMOS) each provide a $300 subsidy (for a total of $600) for travel to and from the workshop. The workshop runs from July 18 – 30, 2010 and is held at the National Weather Service Training Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
The deadline for applications is MARCH 15, 2010. This opportunity is open to elementary and high school teachers. Material in the Project Atmosphere Canada Teacher’s Guide has been duplicated or adapted with the permission of the American Meteorological
Society (AMS) from its Project ATMOSPHERE teacher guides. Fourteen different modules deal with a variety of weather topics from Coriolis Force to Hazardous Weather and
from El Nino to the Jet Stream. Each
module also contains classroom-ready activities that can be copied for your students’ use.
