Direction of River Flow

Materials
• US map with rivers
• Colored pencils
• Compass or transparency with directions marked

Procedure

  • Use color key:
    North flowing = red
    East flowing = yellow
    South flowing = blue
    West flowing = green
  • On the US map mark segments of rivers with the color that corresponds to the general direction of flow.
  • Fill in data table
